creation *ingenious
Took a ferry there and ate fried noodles that rachel cooked on the way there. once i set foot on the island, i fell in love. The place is really beautiful. I would categorise my trip there into 2 sections.
Section A: walking section.
We decided to be brave and walk on our own instead of taking a bus to the city center called Oneroa. haha.. armed with 2 maps. both stuck in my back jeans pocket, we set out. after walking a while, both yee sen and i were quite dubious about where we were heading. cos it looked so foresty and no where near a city-look. All we could see was the winding road up ahead (mind you, it was uphill still) and trees, vegetations and hills. Yee sen said something super hilarious: "maybe after this hill, it will be HALLELUJAH cos we see the city!" *you know that kind with the sound effect* hehe.. in the end we were on the right track. Took a nice stroll along the beach and went for ice cream in the city center. we had 3 hours left in the island. wat to do?
Section B: driving section
we decided to walk back to the harbour and there we ate a super yummy bacon and egg pie. it was so so delicious! then we went on a tour round the island on a taxi. The taxi driver was a maori and she looks 40 but is 60 with 6 children and 8 grandchildren. ") she was totally cool and nice. we drove 2 hours and it was really beautiful.
